Club Gigs Bring Singer/Songwriter Trevor Hall to NY

Geffen recording artist Trevor Hall was in New York City recently wrapping up his national club tour in support of his new EP The Rascals Have Returned. The 19-year-old South Carolina native headlined the Mercury Lounge on March 8 after opening for reggae sensation Matisyahu at the Hammerstein Ballroom two nights before.

Produced by John Alagia (Dave Mathews, Liz Phair, Jason Mraz) and written by Hall, Rascals weaves folk, hip-hop and reggae influences into a rootsy, acoustic-centered style. Guest musicians like drummer Kenny Aronoff (John Mellencamp, John Fogerty) and bassist Sean Hurley are featured on the four track EP. He is currently working on final mixes of his eagerly awaited full length Geffen CD, due later this year.

Despite his young age, Hall is a veteran performer, having launched his career at 15. He started writing at age 14, inspired by artists like Ben Harper, Bob Marley and Jimi Hendrix. After relocating to Southern California, he spent last summer touring with Steel Pulse and went on to open for Ben Harper, Jason Mraz, G-Love and Donavon Frankenreiter.
