Carrere Reconnects with Her Hawaiian Roots

      <dc:subject>Carrere, Tia</dc:subject>

Multi-talented actress Tia Carrere (r), in L.A. to celebrate the release of her Hawaiiana album, which takes her back to her island roots and a musical return to the songs she grew up with, dropped by the BMI offices where she was welcomed by Anne Cecere.

Growing up in Honolulu, Carrere met high-school friend and two-time Grammy Award winner Daniel Ho, who produced the album and provided the slack key guitar and ukulele. With the studio add-ons kept at a minimum, the clean and acoustic instrumental arrangements of the album make it one of the prettiest Hawaiian albums out this year.

Known for her acting roles in Wayne’s World and True Lies, Tia will be appearing on the season premiere of both Nip/Tuck and Curb Your Enthusiasm in the fall.
