Hailing from Las Vegas, 12 Volt Sex has taken the influence of Sin City and created an infectious mix of alt/rock with 70s classic rock-pop (think Cheap Trick/The Babys). Unique melodies, classic guitar leanings and a catchy blend of harmonies help keep the fans lined up. Their current CD was produced by Tom Rothrock and Rob Schnapf (Beck, Elliott Smith) along with two songs produced by Jerry Finn (Blink 182, Rancid).
Peak Show
The Peak Show is a self-described trip-hop group with psychedelic flava, bangin' West Coast beats. For those looking for a category to compare them to, think Portishead/Timbaland/Lennon/McCartney. Having embarked on independently funded regional tours in the past six months, the group has grown a strong legion of fans. Their single "Junk Drawer" was featured on FOX TV's "Freaky Links" show this year. The Peak Show evolved from Guadaloop, LA's first trip-hop band, who toured with Fiona Apple. Upping the ante on their delicious, unique sound by beginning fresh with a special new vocalist, the members of The Peak Show have the talent to take their success to the next level.
Underlords
LA's Underlords display a dizzying array of Beastie Boys beats/charm, the Digable Planets groove and finesse and the rock'n'roll good-times of Poison. Known for their live show, the groups live hip-hop music utilizes the tag team frontline of Avatar and Amazing Paul and are backed by Cooter on bass, DJ Introspeckt on the turntables, Lowbrow on drums and SexSmythe on guitar. Aiming to take live hip-hop to a new, 'emotional and passionate level,' The Underlords sound brings lighthearted turns on life, women, work, and play, with a musical possession all their own.
