Capturing artistic honesty, musical purity and songcraft, Los Angeles rock/pop band Goldspot melds decades of rock and pop influences with the melodic sensibilities of traditional Indian music. Imagine Paul Simon heading to Mumbai to record his next record while listening to the Cure on the flight and you’re getting close to what Goldspot captures musically. Their ability to bring relentless yet delicate melodies to the fore, in what they term a ‘Bollywood’ undertone within Western guitar-pop templates, has resulted in their debut CD release Tally Of The Yes Men. Having already caught the ear of KCRW’s Nic Harcourt, their track “Rewind” has been in rotation at the influential station. The group has also played a triumphant residency at the Hotel Café.
