Women’s Music Commission
A commission competition for women composers

The Women’s Music Commission is a classical music competition for women composers ages 20 through 30 who are citizens or permanent residents of the United States. The winning composer receives a $5,000 commission to create a new work. For each competition, the Foundation partners with a different world class performer, ensemble or presenter, who presents the premiere performance. Entries are judged under pseudonyms.

The 2008 competition will be announced in the fall.
