Music Row Bids Farewell to Veteran Music Writer

Steve Wariner and Tom Roland

BMI songwriter Steve Wariner was the "surprise package" presented to Tom Roland during a gathering (6/9) for the departing Tennessean music writer. The Tennessean's Brad Schmitt, who, with ulterior motive, had recently asked Roland to name his favorite artist, arranged for the Capitol Nashville star to attend the farewell party hosted by BMI Nashville. More than 100 Music Row label, media and publicity colleagues were on hand to thank Roland for his 6+ years as one of Nashville's top reporters and to wish him well on his move to Los Angeles.
