California Music Awards and 23rd annual Bammies were held on Saturday, April 8 in San Francisco, CA at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium. BMI affiliates Rage Against The Machine came away the top winner, taking home five awards. Other BMI writers who received multiple awards included Santana and Smash Mouth with two awards each. BMI composer Michael Kamen shared the Arthur M. Sohcot Award for Excellence with Metallica for their collaboration with the San Francisco Symphony.
