 BMI's Mark Mason and Lou Josie | During his performance at BMI Nashville's September Acoustic Roundup, longtime BMI affiliate Lou Josie was surprised with a three million performance certificate for "Midnight Confessions," a classic most memorably recorded by the Grass Roots. Along with a letter of congratulations from BMI President & CEO Frances Preston, Lou's wife, Nancy, found the song's original copyright registration to be included in the framed Million-Air keepsake. |
A member of the Rock-A-Billy Hall of Fame in Jackson, Tennessee, Josie has posted hits with "We Can Make Music" by Tommy Roe, "Hey Harmonica Man" by Stevie Wonder, and the BMI R&B Award-winning "Soul Finger" by the Bar-Kays, as well as with his own recordings of "Vacation's Over" and "Breezin' Out."

Josie's Acoustic Roundup set at the Sutler included many songs from his just-released album, Me And Mother Music, on Girl Talk Records. He also produced and wrote three of the songs on the new Josie Waverly CD, also released by Girl Talk.
