Toby Keith Celebrates Million-Air Windfall

BMI Nashville caught up with Toby Keith recently to take care of a little songwriting paperwork -- the performing rights organization presented Keith and his publishing company Tokeco Tunes with Million-Air certificates for eight of his hits. The eight certificates represent a total of 15 million broadcast performances -- or approximately 85 years of continuous airplay.

The milestone songs included "I'm Just Talkin' About Tonight," "You Shouldn't Kiss Me Like This," "Big Old Truck" and "Country Comes To Town" at one million performances each; "You Ain't Much Fun," "Wish I Didn't Know Now," "He Ain't Worth Missin'," and "How Do You Like Me Now" at two million each; and "Should've Been A Cowboy" at three million. Keith, BMI's Country Songwriter/Artist of the Year in 2001, has 12 Country Awards and 14 Million-Air songs.
