‘She Let Herself Go’ Goes #1

BMI Nashville hosted a party recently for the chart-topping success of the #1 single "She Let Herself Go." Co-written by BMI country songwriter Dean Dillon, the song was recorded by George Strait and peaked at number one on Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart, where it has remained in the Top 20 for more than 20 weeks.

Pictured celebrating the song's #1 success are MCA promotion execs Royce Risser and Bill Catino, BMI's Bradley Collins, song producer Tony Brown, Sony ATV/Tree's Mike Whelan and Troy Tomlinson, BMI songwriter Dean Dillon, George Strait's manager Erv Woolsey, and "She Let Herself Go" co-writer Kerry Kurt Phillips.

In addition to several #1 cuts for Strait, including "Nobody in His Right Mind Would Have Left Her," "The Chair," "The Best Day" and his first charting hit for Strait, "Unwound," Dillon's songs have also been recorded by Barbara Mandrell, George Jones and Kenny Chesney, among others. As a performer, he enjoyed his own chart success in the 80s and 90s with "Holed Up In Some Honky Tonk," "I Go To Pieces" and "Hot, Country, and Single." He was inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2002.
