BMI London Teams with Gibson to ‘Rock the Quad’

BMI and Gibson Guitars co-sponsored the "Rock the Quad" showcase, held March 8 on the grounds of the prestigious London School of Economics. Proceeds from the event went to Nordoff Robbins Music Therapy, the largest music therapy charity in the U.K.

The showcase featured performances from headlining act LunarMile, along with Hansom Pilot, Dollface and Titan System. The latter two bands are currently finalists in XFM Radio's Rock Idols Live!, a battle of the bands-style contest traveling through universities in the U.K.

Shown at the event are BMI London's Brandon Bakshi; Celena Horan, Chairperson for the London School of Economics' Music Business Society; and Aram, lead singer of Titan System

Headline act LunarMile was founded by vocalist Toni-Marie (daughter of Black Sabbath guitarist Tony Iommi) and guitarist Tom Williams in 2003, and is rounded out by bassist Alex Hill (son of Judas Priest founder Ian Hill) and drummer Rob Stimpson. The band's style is unique, yet contains clear rock influences from such bands as Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones, Queen, No Doubt and Muse. The resulting mix is a breathtaking kaleidoscope of classic and modern heavy rock and pop.

The Nordoff Robbins Music Therapy specializes in using music therapy to aid children and adults with terminal diseases, those who have suffered physical or sexual abuse, and refugees traumatized by war, terrorism or poverty.
