Philippine Society Hosts CISAC Online Experts Conference

Mon Del Rosario, President of FILSCAP, the Philippine performing right society, recently hosted a BIEM/CISAC "Online Experts" meeting in Manila, chaired by BIEM's Bryan Lam. Rights societies from territories around the world, including Japan, Hong Kong, Korea, Thailand and Australia participated, with BMI's Richard Conlon representing U.S. performing right interests.

The purpose of the meeting was to share approaches to licensing the new media and to discuss business solutions to problems ranging from transborder copyright issues to different models for licensing the public performing right. The working group will also closely monitor developments in China and India in an effort to help support the digital music copyright market.
