Barone Named Managing Director of Landmark Digital Services LLC
Robert J. Barone has been appointed Managing Director of Landmark Digital Services, LLC effective April 1, 2007, according to an announcement by Del Bryant, President and CEO of BMI.
Barone was Senior Vice President Information Technology & Operations for BMI. He was a key member of the team that led to BMI’s acquisition of the state-of-the art BlueArrowsm digital audio recognition technology and the establishment of Landmark Digital Services, LLC in August 2005. Landmark, a wholly-owned subsidiary of BMI, was formed to own, deploy and develop the BlueArrow technology and now has independent offices in Nashville and a staff of two dozen. Landmark’s first focus is to provide BMI with additional radio performance data, expected to begin later this year.
Speaking of the appointment, Bryant said, “Bob’s unique combination of business acumen, understanding of technology and management skills have made a dramatic contribution to BMI’s ability to stay one step ahead of the curve as our business has been transformed by the digital era. We feel confident that under his leadership, Landmark will make equally significant contributions, not only to BMI, but to the industry at large.”
Barone joined BMI in December 1993 as Vice President, Information Technology, and was named BMI’s Senior Vice President, Operations & Information Technology in 1999. Prior to joining BMI, he held senior staff positions with MCA and Capitol-EMI.
