BMI Indie Spotlight: HOTEL FICTION
An indie rock combo from Athens, Georgia comprised of Jade Long (vocals, keys), Jessica Thompson (vocals, lead guitar), Aaron Daugherty (lead guitar, synth), Aidan Hill (bass), and Gideon Johnston (drums), Hotel Fiction have developed a sound that has often been described as genre-fluid, flecked with elements of indie, pop, folk, and rock. Their debut single, “Astronaut Kids,” earned them a warm welcome from the indie scene, and went on to amass two million global streams. They released their debut album, Soft Focus in 2021, followed by their EP, Enjoy Your Stay, in 2022. In 2024, they released their highly anticipated sophomore album, Staring at the Sun, produced by Tommy Trautwein (Hey, Nothing). Following the album’s release, the band embarked on another successful headline tour.
