Graciously donated anonymously by a workshop member, “The George Bailey Fund” is appropriately named after the scene in the film classic It’s a Wonderful Life in which George Bailey gives his friends and neighbors what they need to tide them over financially.
The new fund is designed to benefit participants of the esteemed BMI Lehman Engel Musical Theatre Workshop by providing first and second-year workshop members with financial assistance for unforeseen expenses that would hinder the pursuit of their craft. Grants of up to $500 per person will be awarded during each workshop term, September through August, and applications, which are managed by the Dramatist Guild Fund, can be submitted at https://dgf.org/programs/grants/.
