Hosted by Nola Darling’s Alex and Jaq, the July 21 installment of BMI’s Next Fresh Thing showcase series kicked off with sly hip-hop kid Coolroy, who performed selections from his mixtape, Charlie. The show culminated with Karmin (pictured), who delivered their hotly anticipated first Los Angeles performance since recently anointed Epic Records Chairman and CEO Antonio “L.A.” Reid signed the pair to the label.
