Emilio Estefan Tops Latin Grammy Noms List
BMI songwriter/producer Emilio Estefan, Jr. topped the nomination list with six nods for this year's First Annual Latin Grammy Awards, which will take place on September 13, 2000 in Los Angeles. His nominations include two for Tropical Song of the Year - one for the Marc Anthony hit "Da La Vuelta," co-written with Kike Santander, and the other for wife Gloria Estefan's song "No Me Dejes De Querer," co-written with Gloria and Robert Blades. He also earned nominations for Record of the Year, Album of the Year, Producer of the Year and Best Music Video.
In addition to taking home the most nominations, Estefan will be feted by LARAS, the Latin arm of the Recording Academy that organizes the Grammys, as "Person of the Year" on September 11 during the Latin Grammy Nominee Celebration and Silent Auction. |
