BMI Shines Light On Dove Songwriters At Showcase
BMI Nashville helped kick-off Gospel Music Week 2001, themed "Music Without Walls," by presenting the Songwriter Showcase on Sunday evening, April 22. The purpose of the event was "to showcase and celebrate songwriters," and the packed ballroom at the Hilton Suites was testament to the power of the music and messages. Nicole C. Mullen and Aaron Wiburn co-hosted.

BMI writer/artists who performed were Songwriter and Song of the Year nominees Marc Byrd ("God Of Wonders"), Steven Curtis Chapman ("Dive") and Mark Schultz ("He's My Son"). Chart-topping writers of 2000 included John L. Cooper, from Rock, and Gerald Crabb, from Southern Gospel.
