Stars Earn #1 Stripes For ‘Only In America’

BMI hosted a patriotic #1 party honoring songwriters Kix Brooks, Don Cook and Ronnie Rogers whose "Only In America," recorded by Brooks & Dunn, has become a theme song across the nation. From the CMA Award-winning duo's Arista Nashville album Steers and Stripes, "Only In America" is published by Sony/ATV Tree, Buffalo Prairie Songs and Route Six Music. The single was produced by Mark Wright, Brooks and Dunn.

Brooks, Cook and Rogers are all multiple BMI Country, Pop and Million-Air honored songwriters. Rogers has placed more than a dozen songs on the awards list through the years, including "Blame It On Texas," "Dixieland Delight," "Jukebox In My Mind," "Pass Down," and "Goin' Through The Big D." Cook (who has collected more than 20 BMI Citations of Achievement) and Brooks have previously teamed several award songs for Brooks & Dunn, among them "Brand New Man, Next Broken Heart," "That Ain't No Way To Go," "Whiskey Under The Bridge" and "You're Gonna Miss Me When I'm Gone."
