BMI's Dr. David Sanjek (right), a member of the Blues Foundation's Board of Directors, recently attended the annual "Keeping the Blues Alive" presentation in Memphis, Tennesee. He presented a special award for Historical Work to Revenant Records and its founder, the late guitarist John Fahey, for their work in documenting America's roots music and most recent release, the seven-disc set Screamin' and Hollerin' The Blues: The Worlds of Charlie Patton. Dr. Sanjek has himself received a "Keeping the Blues Alive" award for Historic Preservation. Seen here after the presentation are Howard Stovall of the Blues Foundation, Dean Blackwood of Revenant Records and Sanjek.
