Robert Sherman

BMI songwriter Robert Sherman (left) is congratulated by BMI's Brandon Bakshi at the debut of his art exhibition at Thompson Gallery in London. Sherman began work as a painter in the 40's while studying art and literature at the Bard College of New York. He is also internationally known as a member of the Academy Award winning songwriting team The Sherman Brothers. During his distinguished career, he has written music for some of the world's best loved family oriented movies, including "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang," "Mary Poppins," "Winnie the Pooh" and "The Jungle Book." Sherman has received two Academy Awards, two Grammy Awards, numerous gold and platinum albums, and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
