CMT/CMT.com NSAI Song Contest Deadline Is November 30
The final deadline to enter the Nashville Songwriters Association International’s 3rd Annual CMT/CMT.com NSAI Song Contest is November 30, 2002. Co-sponsored by BMI, the CMT/CMT.com NSAI Song Contest provides an avenue for aspiring songwriters to make industry contacts and have their songs pitched to record labels and publishers. |
CMT will again provide the Grand Prize Winner with a network appearance on CMT. Along with the CMT network appearance, the winner will also receive a three-day trip to Nashville, an appearance on a WSM-FM radio program, a live Bluebird Caf performance, a mentoring session with an award-winning songwriter, song pitching of the winning song to publishers and record labels for one year, and a professionally produced demo, among other prizes.
The winning songs are pitched to every major record label and music publishing company in Nashville. NSAI hosts regular pitch sessions where A&R representatives from record labels and music publishers listen to the winning songs. This is unprecedented exposure for the winning entries.
Steve Casey and Dan McNeil of Ottawa, Canada, wrote last year’s winning song, “Shiver You Up"; the song was placed on hold immediately by a Nashville publisher and garnered strong interest from two top country artists.
