Rhonda Vincent Bows ‘One Step Ahead’

Posted in News on May 29, 2003
BMI Nashville joined Rounder Records and Martha White in hosting a party for bluegrass star Rhonda Vincent to celebrate the debut of her 20th album, One Step Ahead (5/5). The event also marked Vincent's 20-year anniversary as a BMI affiliate. Country Music Association board member Tony Conway presented Vincent a Fan Fair "survival kit," which contained various items she may need as a performer in CMA's upcoming 32nd Annual Fan Fair.

With her band The Rage, Vincent claimed five awards at the Society for the Preservation of Bluegrass Music in America's 29th annual awards show in 2003, including Entertainer and Song of the Year ("Is The Grass Any Bluer"). She has also been named the International Bluegrass Music Association's Female Vocalist for the past three years and her 2001 release The Storm Still Rages was nominated for seven IBMA awards. Vincent is currently touring with The Rage in support of One Step Ahead.
