BMI Jazz Giants Dominate Readers Poll

BMI jazz great Wayne Shorter earned three wins, including the poll's top award: Artist of the Year. He was also named Best Soprano Saxophone Artist and his new CD, Alegria, was named Best New Release. Shorter was a big winner in the recent DownBeat Jazz Critics Poll as well.
Other top winners were B.B. King for Best Blues Group, Miles Davis' Live at the Blackhawk for Best Reissue and the Pat Metheny Group for Best Contemporary/Electric Group. Metheny was also named Best Guitarist.
