Toby Keith Leads Winners Pack at ACM Awards
BMI affiliates claimed victory in most categories at the 39th Annual Academy Of Country Music Awards, held at the Mandelay Bay Resort & Casino in Las Vegas (5/26). With trophies in hand for Entertainer of the Year, Top Male Vocalist, Album of the Year (Shock 'N Y'all) and ACM/Launch Video of the Year ("Beer For My Horses"), Toby Keith was the night's big winner.

Martina McBride received her third consecutive Top Female Vocalist win along with the Home Depot Humanitarian Award. The #1 smash "It's Five O'Clock Somewhere" garnered Single Record and Vocal Event nods for Jimmy Buffett and producer Keith Stegall, while "Three Wooden Crosses" earned Song of the Year accolades for songwriter Doug Johnson and publishers Mike Curb Music and Sweet Radical Music.

Willie Nelson was honored with the Gene Weed Special Achievement Award, which acknowledges unprecedented, unique and outstanding individual achievement in country music. Fellow Texan Ray Price received the Academy of Country Music Pioneer Award, which is presented to an outstanding country music pioneer. James Stroud, Tony Brown, Billy Sherrill, John Hobbs and Aubrey Haynie round out the list of BMI's ACM winners.
