Jake Shimabukuro Says Aloha to BMI NY

Ukulele sensation Jake Shimabukuro stopped by the New York office and treated BMI staff to a sampling of his unique talent. The 27-year-old Hawaiian native is considered a master of the ukulele, known for his lightning fast fingers and innovative style. With such an incomparable sound, Shimabukuro captivates audiences everywhere with performances that combine island standards with rock, funk, blues, jazz, and everything in between.

He is currently on tour in the US and Japan with Bela Fleck and the Flecktones. His third CD will be released this summer, and his first DVD entitled Play Loud Ukulele will be released later this year. Shimabukuro was recently named Hawaii's Goodwill Ambassador to Japan and received the Japanese Foreign Minister's Commendation for promoting US
