BMI Artists Ready For Anguilla Music Festival

BMI will bring some of Nashville's top writers and artists to the British West Indies to play the first Anguilla Music Festival, set for February 19-20. Scheduled to perform at the Country in the Caribbean event are Sony Records artist Billy Ray Cyrus and Curb Records artist Shannon Brown, along with songwriters Chuck Cannon ("American Soldier"), Bob DiPiero ("You Can't Take the Honky Tonk Out of the Girl"), Scotty Emerick ("Beer for My Horses"), Kylie Sackley ("Nothin' 'Bout Love Makes Sense"), James Slater ("In My Daughter's Eyes") and Jeffrey Steele ("My Town").

Big names in local Anguillan talent will also share the stage, including Evan Webster, Bankie Banx and Sprocka. The musicians will perform two public shows -- at Scilly Cay on Saturday, February 19 at 2:30 pm, and at Dune Preserve on Sunday, February 20 at 7:30 pm. Drawing inspiration from the Key West and Nassau Songwriters Festivals, Country in the Caribbean will also serve as a fundraiser for local Anguillan children's charities including the Anguilla Tennis Academy. Other sponsors include American Airlines, Great American Country, Diadora, Junkanoo Rum, Villa Coyaba, Scilly Cay, Frangipani Beach Club, Anguilla Printers, Highway Rent-a-Car, Stella Artois, Anguilla Great House, Caribbean Cable Communications, Triple K Car Rental, Shoal Bay Beach Hotel, Dune Preserve and the Anguilla Tourist Board.
