BMI Sponsors NABOB Dinner

For the 12th consecutive year, BMI was a proud sponsor of the National Association of Black Owned Broadcasters (NABOB) Annual Communications Awards Dinner, held March 11 at Marriott's Wardman Park Hotel in Washington, DC. The dinner annually honors the most prestigious names in entertainment, communications and public service.

This year's honorees included comedian/activist and BMI affiliate Dick Gregory, who received the Mickey Leland Public Service Award. Other award recipients were director/producer Michael Schultz (Oscar Micheaux Excellence in Film Award), opera star Denyce Graves (Lifetime Achievement Award), actor Melvin Van Peebles (Pioneer in Entertainment Award) and singer/actress Vanessa Williams (Entertainer of the Year), who performed during the 21st annual ceremony.
