BMI New York continues its popular "Songwriter in Residence at the Rockwood," a new program featuring an emerging BMI singer/songwriter performing at cutting edge NYC venue Rockwood Music Hall (196 Allen Street). Singer/songwriter Sylvia Tosun, BMI's 2005 Abe Olman Scholarship winner, was one of September's featured artists.

Pictured after the show are piano player Pete Drungle, guitarist Joey Sykes, bass player Conrad Korsch, BMI's JW Johnson, Songwriter in Residence performer Sylvia Tosun, drummer Shawn Pelton and Bob Kinkel of the Trans-Siberian Orchestra

With a unique voice evocative of such artists as Annie Lennox, Loreena McKennitt and Bjork, the New York-based artist has just released her debut CD entitled Jump In, a mix of rock rhythms, pop melodies, poetic metaphors and mystical undertones. A track from the album was recently featured on the WB's Dawson's Creek DVD series.
