Posted in News on December 13, 2005
BMI and the Society of Composers and Lyricists (SCL) recently co-hosted a screening in honor of BMI composer Mychael Danna, who scored the award-winning biopic Capote, based on the life of author Truman Capote. The screening was followed by a lively Q&A session moderated by well-known film and television journalist Jon Burlingame.

Shown after the screening are SCL Executive Director Laura Dunn, journalist Jon Burlingame, BMI composer Mychael Danna, BMI's Doreen Ringer Ross and SCL President Dan Foliart.

Directed by Bennett Miller, the film stars Philip Seymour Hoffman as Capote, who while doing research for his book In Cold Blood -- a real life account of the murder of a Kansas family -- develops a close relationship with Perry Smith, one of the killers.

Danna's other film score credits include Being Julia, The Antwone Fisher Story, Hearts in Atlantis and Girl, Interrupted.
