6 Twenty got their start while attending Jordan High School in Long Beach, Calif. Colombian-born brothers Richard (Richie) and Joseph (Jose) Sanchez met two friends, Roberto (Bobby) Cerda and Gil (Tito) Figueroa, a talented singer and songwriter from Puerto Rico, and hit off a close friendship that eventually developed into a professional musical career. The decided to form a singing group, naming themselves after the date they met.
