BMI Country Star Toby Keith Hits the Big Screen

Posted in News on August 9, 2006

Country star and twice-dubbed BMI Songwriter of the Year Toby Keith will star in his first feature film, Broken Bridges, which debuts Sept. 7 in Nashville and hits theatres nationwide the following day. The story revolves around a downtrodden country singer (played by Keith) looking for redemption and healing through mending broken ties-especially with his 16-year-old daughter. Co-stars include talented newcomer Lindsey Haun as Keith's daughter and Hollywood starlet Kelly Preston as his former flame.

The film's soundtrack includes multiple tracks by Keith himself and contributions from such premier BMI artists as country legend Willie Nelson, duo Rushlow Harris, gospel singer Bebe Winans, and songwriting pacesetters Sonya Isaacs, Martraca Berg and Scotty Emerick. The album will be released Aug. 29 on Keith's own Show Dog Nashville label, home to Rushlow Harris and his Broken Bridges co-star Lindsey Haun, as well as his latest effort, White Trash With Money.

Keith's "Hookin' Up and Hangin' Out" Tour kicks off Aug. 11 in Cleveland, and his latest single, "It's A Little Too Late," recently hit No. 1.
