BMI celebrated the kick-off of the Latin Grammys at the Bacardi Noche Latina pre-party held Nov. 1 at Joe's Pub in New York. "NocheLatina is all about music, lifestyle and entertainment," said Alex Frias, Managing Director of nocheLatina.com. "We couldn't think of a better way to celebrate the New York debut of the Latin Grammy Awards than with an intimate performance by BMI songwriters Inés Gaviria, Javier Garcia and Motel."

Inés Gaviria performs

Inés Gaviria is a singer/songwriter based in Miami, Fla. Her first album, A Mi Manera, was released in June 2005 on Respek Records (distributed by Universal Records). Her affinity and passion for music sparked when she was only 13-years-old and her career continues to grow. She is omnipresent in the industry, previously singing backup for several high-profile artists while writing songs and music for both artists and publishers. Her break came after she was invited to participate in the "Songwriters' Exchange" organized by Respek. Despite offers from several major labels, Inés took the independent route and hit her stride, riding it all the way to the top.

Javier Garcia performs

Javier Garcia embodies the complete artist: He is a gifted singer, composer, arranger, producer, and guitar and percussion player. It is these talents that Garcia brings to the incredibly diverse fusion of musical styles, with tastes of rock, hip-hop, ska, calypso, funk, reggae and tropical rhythms. All of these flavors combined add to the unique pop sound that can be heard on his most recent album, 13. Garcia is currently featured on the new compilation album Radio Latino, an upbeat collection of Latin pop and alternative music issued by Putumayo World Music in conjunction with United for Colombia.
