2009 Kauai Music Festival Slated for July 29 - August 1
The Kauai Music Festival will celebrate the art of songwriting Wednesday, July 29 through Saturday, August 1, 2009 in Kauai, Hawaii. BMI is a charter sponsor of the event, which is designed to encourage and inform aspiring troubadours. Award-winning songwriters, producers, and industry heavy hitters offer one-on-one advice, intimate educational seminars, and unique networking opportunities in Kauai’s paradisiacal setting.
Creators and executives slated to attend the 2009 festival include producer-songwriter Marti Frederiksen (Motley Crue, Aerosmith, Def Leppard, Johnny Lang, Sheryl Crow, Buckcherry, and Gavin Rossdale); singer/songwriter Kevin Griffin (Howie Day, David Cook, Better Than Ezra); producer, songwriter & recording artist Brian Howes (Hinder, Daughtry, David Cook); Grammy-winning producer and songwriter and former Ambrosia front man David Pack (Wynonna, Phil Collins, Aretha Franklin, and Kenny Loggins); television and film composer Adam Gorgoni (Aliens in America, Sons and Daughters, and Deadliest Jobs in the World); songwriter and workshop instructor Jason Blume, who wrote hit songs that individually and simultaneously climbed country, pop, and r&b charts; Grammy-nominated songwriter Shelly Peiken (Christina Aguilera, Meredith Brooks, and Britney Spears); Music Row session guitarist and Black River Music staff writer Jeff Dayton; and entertainment attorney William G. Meyer III. Additional instructors include executives from NBC, Lifetime TV, BMI, Atlantic Records, Stage Three Music Publishing and EMI Music Group.
