AIMP Establishes Nashville Chapter
The Association of Independent Music Publishers (AIMP) has established a new chapter in Nashville. The branch joins AIMP’s outposts in Los Angeles and New York, and will serve as a base for networking, education and the collective advocacy of Music City’s thriving independent music publishing community.
BMI is a proud supporter of AIMP’s Nashville chapter. David Preston, BMI Director, Writer/Publisher Relations, Nashville, has joined the organization’s steering committee, which will help oversee the launch of the new chapter until a board is elected. Preston joins an enthusiastic group of Nashville leaders that includes veteran music industry executive Jill Napier, Randy Wachtler (President, 615 Music), Walter Campbell (President, Big Garage Music Publishing), Eli Ball (CEO, Lyric Financial), Kevin Lamb (VP, peermusic), Ross Asher (Creative, Razor and Tie), Josh Collum (Sorted Noise Productions), Jewel Coburn (Co-president Ten Ten Music) and Diana Maher (Owner, Moraine Music Group).
“We are very excited to have Nashville become a valuable part of our organization,” says AIMP President Richard Feldman. “With encouragement from publishers here in Nashville, and the overwhelming success of our recent panel on licensing songs for film and TV, there has never been a better time to bring the AIMP to Music City. We believe that the large and diverse music community here will find value and benefits in the AIMP’s programs and advocacy initiatives.”
The Association of Independent Music Publishers (AIMP) is a non-profit organization providing education and information on the most current topics, trends and practices in the music publishing industry. For more information, please visit www.aimp.org.
