American Authors to Give Special Benefit Concert for BMI Foundation
On January 20, 2015, the BMI Foundation will offer a rare opportunity to enjoy a private concert by internationally renowned, platinum-selling alternative-rock band American Authors. The benefit event, to be held in BMI’s NY office, will help support the Foundation’s music performance and education initiatives. It will begin with a VIP cocktail reception, followed by a live performance of American Authors’ biggest hits. The evening will also include a special presentation highlighting the work of the BMI Foundation, which works to provide scholarships and grants to music students, composers, performers and other nonprofit arts organizations nationwide.
Best known for their chart-topping singles “Best Day of My Life” and “Believer,” American Authors first formed their four-piece indie-rock outfit at Boston’s prestigious Berklee College of Music in 2006. The band later relocated to Brooklyn, NY, where they spent years diligently cultivating their career before the release of their debut album, Oh, What a Life, to widespread acclaim. They have since become an internationally-known touring act and continue to enjoy rising commercial and critical success.
