Award-winning BMI Songwriter Helps Honor Legendary Hospitality Association Executive
BMI country songwriter Tim James made the trip up to Providence recently to pay tribute to long time Rhode Island Hospitality Association CEO Dale Venturini who retired recently after devoting 35 years of her professional life to protecting the interests of the state’s restaurants, bars, and hotels. James, who has a GRAMMY to his credit along with multiple BMI Awards, delivered a heartfelt set of his biggest hits to honor Dale in front of hundreds of Rhode Island hoteliers, restaurateurs, and state legislators and to thank her for all that she has done to support BMI songwriters throughout her career. BMI’s Dan Spears was also on hand to present her with a coveted BMI gold record in acknowledgement of her years of service to the hospitality industry. Dale and the RHA have been long time partners of BMI and enjoyed a close and collaborative working relationship. Tim has written number one songs for the likes of George Strait, Lee Brice and Toby Keith and recently penned his own memoir entitled “Going Crazy” that recounts his journey to becoming one of Nashville’s most respected country songwriters.
