The Society of Composers & Lyricists welcomed in the music creators behind Disney’s new film Moana with an exclusive screening and Q&A at the Silver Screen Theatre in West Hollywood on November 13. BMI composer Mark Mancina, along with songwriters Opetaia Foa’i, Lin-Manuel Miranda and EVP, Music – Disney & Pixar Animation Studios, Tom MacDougall, spoke candidly about their parts in making the music for this highly anticipated new film. Journalist Jon Burlingame moderated the lively discussion, which BMI’s Reema Iqbal was proud to attend after the screening in support of Mancina.
