Berklee NYC Partners With Song Arts Academy for Songwriting Masterclass on June 24

Posted in News on June 4, 2018

Berklee NYC Executive Director Stephen Webber announced a partnership with Billy Seidman’s Song Arts Academy to present an all-day masterclass in advanced song craft, Sunday, June 24, at the famed Power Station Studios in New York City.

“This is a wonderful opportunity,” said Webber, “to bring together the New York songwriting community along with Berklee alumni to play songs, network, collaborate and take away a set of creative tools to build stronger songs. Billy’s style of teaching and experience helps writers build smarter, emotionally honest songs listeners relate to.”

The day will focus on participants playing songs for critiques and rewrites. Those taking part will also receive road-tested, custom materials; handouts, charts and graphs created especially for the session. “There’s so many sign posts, clues, and winding trails buried just below the surface of great songs making them great,” said Seidman. “I love showing writers how they can push away the underbrush to clearly see how better written their songs can be.”

The cost for the masterclass is $250.00. BMI members’ cost is $150.00 with discount code: BNYCMUSICMONTH
