BMI Attends 5TH Annual Production Music Conference
BMI executives and staff joined other music industry leaders for two days of panels and networking during the Production Music Association’s fifth annual Production Music Conference (PMC). The conference kicked off with the 4th Annual Mark Awards, held at the Loews Hollywood Hotel. BMI’s Michael Crepezzi was a judge and presenter for Best Folk Song and Folk Artist, along with West One Music Group’s Edwin Cox. Several BMI affiliates participated on numerous panels over the two-day conference with a keynote presentation given by top-grossing BMI composer Tyler Bates (Guardians of the Galaxy, Deadpool 2, John Wick), who was interviewed by journalist Jon Burlingame, with a full house in attendance. Sam Trust, a former BMI executive, was recognized as a Hall of Fame Award honoree. With more than 40 years of publishing experience, Trust created and was President of Killer Tracks in 1989. Trust also wrote a book chronicling his time in the music business, Would You Trust this Man with Your Songs?
BMI has been a proud sponsor of the PMC since its inception in 2013. At the event, affiliates and industry leaders engage directly with BMI executives and staff to ask questions and seek guidance. The Production Music Association (PMA) is a non-profit organization with more than 670 music publisher members.
