BMI brought a rising star to the 2019 Council of State Restaurant Associations annual winter conference held recently in Atlanta. BMI songwriter and Nashville-based recording artist Bren Joy brought his unique R & B/gospel/pop sound to the semi-annual gathering of executives that run the various state restaurant associations. The conference is designed to update association heads on developments in the restaurant industry, as well offer an opportunity for them to share best practices. For BMI, it’s an opportunity to give back to a group of organizations that help BMI educate restaurateurs on the importance of respecting copyrights and fairly compensating songwriters and publishers. Joy shared with the execs a variety of tunes from Twenties, an eight-song track list that captures his sentiments and emotions as he enters his 20’s.
