BMI was proud to partner with Harlem’s historic Apollo Theater, once again, to present BMI’s renowned ‘How I Wrote That Song’ panel on Tuesday, April 4 in New York City. This signature event serves as a platform for some of the industry’s most talented contemporary Latin music creators to share their insights, valuable experience and amusing anecdotes in an open forum. The theater presented the program as part of the Apollo Theater Education Career Panel series. The panel provided attendees the opportunity to learn about the craft of songwriting from some of today’s top Latin music scribes.

The event featured panelists 24 Horas, El Dusty, A&X’s Xtassy, Pinto “Wahin” and David Escobar, who all shared stories and discussed the creative process behind some of their biggest hits. Moderated by Ana Isabelle, the panel prompted a lively and informative exchange about songwriting, production and performance, culminating with a question and answer period with audience members.
