BMI Celebrates Country Music Month

Posted in News on October 1, 2021

BMI is proud to celebrate Country Music Month each October by paying tribute to our incredibly talented country songwriters in Nashville and beyond. The annual celebration is a wonderful precursor to BMI’s Country Awards every November, which is the genre’s oldest awards presentation. Over the decades, BMI has represented so many iconic songwriters, from Hank Williams, Kris Kristofferson, Dolly Parton, Willie Nelson and Mac Davis, to today’s hitmakers including Eric Church, Miranda Lambert, Ashley McBryde, Maren Morris, Carrie Underwood, Thomas Rhett, Keith Urban, Kane Brown, Luke Bryan, Mickey Guyton and countless others who continue to make an indelible mark in music history. Along with these legendary singer/songwriters, BMI also represents many behind-the-scenes writers who are responsible for your favorite hits. Songwriters like Bob DiPiero, Steve Cropper, Liz Rose, Ben Burgess, Ross Copperman, Nicolle Galyon and Connie Harrington are just a few of many.

Throughout the month, we’ll highlight some of our amazing country songwriters on our site and social media platforms with exclusive video that you won’t want to miss. We’ll feature playlists, stories behind the songs, interviews and more! In addition, stay tuned for a special Emoji That Track Country Music Month Edition. Enjoy!
