BMI launched into this week’s 50th annual CMA Fest by celebrating BMI singer/songwriter and multi-platinum entertainer Thomas Rhett’s 7 out of 20 most recent career chart-topping No. 1s, all 7 of which Rhett co-wrote. Hosted by BMI and ASCAP, the lunchtime party held yesterday on the rooftop of BMI’s Nashville office celebrated how Rhett’s career has touched Nashville’s tight-knit songwriting community. The event recognized everyone from newly minted hit songwriters to songwriting legends, as well as a few of Rhett’s collaborators and friends, including Riley Green and Jon Pardi. Attendees enjoyed Martin’s BBQ while toasting to the success behind Rhett’s hits “Remember You Young,” “Beer Can’t Fix” feat. Jon Pardi, “Be A Light” feat. Reba, Hillary Scott, Chris Tomlin, Keith Urban, “What’s Your Country Song,” “Country Again,” “Slow Down Summer” and “Half of Me” feat. Riley Green.
Studio Bank, Music, Arts & Entertainment Executive, Ron Cox, made a special donation presentation on behalf of Thomas Rhett and the songwriters to Love One International, which transforms the lives of children and families in Uganda through life-saving medical care and family preservation.
