BMI Celebrates Russell Dickerson with Triple No. 1 Party
BMI artist Russell Dickerson celebrated a hat-trick No. One celebration on Monday at Nashville’s Electric Jane for his recent chart-toppers “Every Little Thing,” “Love You Like I Used To,” and “God Gave Me a Girl.” He reunited with his fellow co-writers, including BMI’s Chase McGill (“God Gave Me a Girl”) and Parker Welling (“Every Little Thing,” “Love You Like I Used To”), which serves as McGill’s 12th No. One and Welling’s fifth.
Hosted by BMI, SESAC, and ASCAP, the Triple Tigers’ hitmaker earned nods for recent chart-toppers “Every Little Thing,” written by Dickerson (BMI), Parker Welling (BMI), and written and produced by Casey Brown (SESAC); “Love You Like I Used To” also written by Dickerson, Welling, and Brown with producer Dann Huff (ASCAP); and “God Gave Me a Girl,” by Chase McGill (BMI), Ashley Gorley (ASCAP), written and produced Zach Crowell (ASCAP) and Dickerson.
Sponsored by Studio Bank, highlights included a donation presentation made by Kari Barnart on behalf of Dickerson and the songwriters in support of Cultivate, which serves physically and spiritually hungry individuals in the Middle Tennessee area.
