BMI Celebrates the 25th Anniversary of LAMC with Indie Showcase and Panel
BMI was proud to participate in the 25th anniversary of LAMC, the Latin Alternative Music Conference, in New York City. This year, BMI presented the panel, “The Business of Songwriting,” on Wednesday, July 10. Moderated by BMI’s VP Creative, Latin, Jesus Gonzalez, the discussion featured a dynamic group including Oscar Martinez (peermusic), Emilio Morales (Rimas Publishing), Pablo Ahogado (Concord), Sol Naiman (Warner Chappell Music), Diego Maldonado (ONErpm/ONE Publishing), and songwriters Jose Luis “Cheo” Pardo and Trooko. The panel delved into various topics including trends in the music publishing world, songwriter collaborations, registering songs, advice for music creators and much more.
Additionally, BMI presented the highly anticipated Indie Showcase at DROM NYC, which featured an eclectic lineup of artists including Panamanian Latin trap artist Chicocurlyhead and Mexican disco electronic pop group Midnight Generation, both affiliated with BMI, along with Mexican pop/rock singer-songwriter Bratty, and Mexican singer/songwriter NSQK. They performed to a packed house of LAMC badge-holders and other industry VIPs.
