BMI Celebrates the 2nd Annual Anti Social Camp as part of NY Music Month
Founded by BMI songwriter/producer Danny Ross to strengthen both New York City’s creative community and the local economy, the Anti Social Camp gathers hundreds of signed artists, songwriters, producers, labels and publishers together in person for recording sessions at various studios around New York City. As proud sponsors of the camp alongside Mayor Adams’ office, Spotify and several other companies, BMI was on hand to help kick off the 2nd Annual Anti Social Camp opening ceremony at the D’Angelico Showroom in Manhattan on June 13. The event was held as part of NY Music Month. BMI’s VP, Creative, New York Samantha Cox welcomed everyone with a few words about her experience working with Ross and the goals of the camp.
BMI’s AVP, Digital Licensing, Evan Parness, followed with a presentation about BMI’s work supporting songwriters in the digital space, as well as BMI’s partnerships and activations with platforms like YouTube, Apple, Facebook, Spotify and The Collection, our new partnership with Twitch’s incubator. The opening BMI ceremony also featured some insightful songwriter interviews.
