BMI Composers Beal, Lionelli, and Cutler Talk Documentaries at SCL Panel Discussion

BMI’s Chris Dampier recently attended the Society of Composers & Lyricists presentation, Scoring Documentaries, in support of BMI composers Jeff Beal, Gary Lionelli and Miriam Cutler, who were part of a panel discussion on the nuances unique to creating music for this art form. The event, which took place in Los Angeles, was narrated by BMI composer Fletcher Beasley. Among five-time Emmy-winner Jeff Beal’s documentary credits are Blackfish, The Queen Of Versailles, and Boston. Three-time Emmy-winner Gary Lionelli is responsible for his critically acclaimed score to O.J.: Made in America and Last Days in Vietnam. Sundance Documentary Composer Labs advisor Miriam Cutler is an Emmy-nominated composer for several award-winning films including The Hunting GroundEthel and Thin.
