BMI Congratulates its 2017 Latin GRAMMY Nominations

Posted in News on September 27, 2017

It’s been another amazing year for BMI’s Latin songwriters, whose successes were amply represented in the nominations for this year’s Latin GRAMMY Awards. After shattering expectations, setting records and cementing itself as one of the most successful singles of all time, Luis Fonsi’s “Despacito” earned four coveted Latin GRAMMY nods, including Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Urban Fusion/Performance and Best Music Video Short Version. Versatile Puerto Rican rapper Residente was nominated for nine awards, Colombian pop superstar Shakira received six nods and Colombian rocker Juanes and Chilean singer/songwriter Mon Laferte both received five. The winners of the 18th Annual Latin GRAMMY Awards will be announced on Thursday, November 16, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, and will be broadcast live on Univision from 8 - 11 p.m. ET. Good luck to all.
