BMI Congratulates its 2020 Billboard Latin Music Award Winners
BMI is once again proudly celebrating its affiliates who took home major wins at Billboard’s Latin Music Awards last night in Miami. Delayed from its normal time in April by the pandemic, the ceremony was held at the BB&T Center in Sunrise, Fla. and featured some rousing performances by names like Pitbull, Anuel AA, Ozuna, The Black Eyed Peas and many others. Among the multiple-award winners, celebrated BMI singer/songwriter Luis Fonsi took home three awards: Latin Pop Artist of the Year, Solo, Latin Pop Album of the Year for Vida and Latin Song of the Decade for “Despacito.” Karol G claimed the awards for both Hot Latin Songs Artist of the Year, Female and Top Latin Albums Artist of the Year, Female. Powerhouse duo Wisin & Yandel won for both Latin Rhythm Artist of the Year, Duo or Group and Tropical Song of the Year for “Aullando.” Tainy, meanwhile, took home the prestigious award for Producer of the Year.
